MONMOUTH — A pair of restaurants could be coming to the corner by AmericInn.

Petersen Hotels Vice President Doug Currier said they are looking at the area formerly known as Meling Corner — which the hotel owns — to build two restaurants. One would be a pub and grill concept, while the other would be an Italian restaurant.

Currier said he was uncertain when an announcement would be made — and stressed nothing was finalized yet — but he said he hoped the project would break ground at some point during the summer.
